January 1st

Last day before the kids go. Will miss their lovely horridness.

Also, we had a quick visit to the neighbor’s (Wiley’s) New Years day annual bonfire where they do a cool old Southern tradition -Hoppin John. A big pot of rice and black-eyed peas for good luck. Eat poor on the first day for a rich rest of the year. Rice for riches, peas for peace. Nice.
