The pile on the right are the letters he knows right away and the ones on the left are the ones he has a harder time with. But he’s really into it lately and points out letters in signs. And has discovered an A on one of his sweatshirts and insists on wearing it now all the time. It matches nothing else he owns, of course.
He can almost spell his name. If he moves the “S” to the right hand pile, they are all there 🙂
His right? Or mine?!
Emily’s 🙂
Maybe better to use the screen as a reference. “And here on the left side of the screen, we have …. ” Everything is about the screen nowadays anyway.
I used the point of view in Emily’s original post. I knew the pile on the right was on the viewer’s right because Emily later mentions that Gus can recognize the letter A. That’s all. Thought I’d keep a constant pov.
he’ll really only need that other pile for things like ‘dextrose’, ‘froth’, and ‘quash’, none of which are really appropriate for a developing mind. still, it’s a shame that he might miss out on ‘plinth’, or ‘quixotic’ which are words i’ll never get tired of.
