Fall

The theme at story time today was leaves. We had three books about them and it struck me that it’s a tough topic to introduce much tension or suspense into.

(Gus felt the same)

(Actually several of the parents had to keep jumping up to drag their kids back from a premature bolt towards door or the plastic box of music toys that they always bring out at the end)

And in the afternoon we had a walk in the orchard which is turning yellow and orange.

Gus picked up a few presents for Charles. The first was a half of a rotting acorn. The second was a new and lovely acorn. And the third a rotting yellow fruit of some kind.

(I think I may be ahead so far in the gifts department.)
